Brønshøj BK, full name Brønshøj Boldklub is a Danish football club located in the outskirts of Copenhagen. The club was founded in 1919, but had their first league appearance in the season of 1944–45. Brønshøj BK has been a part of the Danish league system ever since, mostly playing in the two lower leagues (divisions).

The team had short spells in the highest division (then called 1. division) in the early 1960s and the early 1970s, and about half a dozen players made it to the Danish national team. Brønshøj Boldklubs golden era came about in the middle of the 1980s, when two consecutive promotions saw them a place in the 1. division. The culmination came in the season of 1984 under the guidance of manager Ebbe Skovdahl, when the team finished in 5th place, the clubs all time highest. The club was relegated in 1989, and has not since then been represented in the highest league.

Despite modest budgets Brønshøj Boldklub has maintained their league status, currently playing in the 2nd best league and doing it well in the recent years. The club was relegated to the 3rd tier in 2015.

Achievements

Supporters

The official fan club of Brønshøj BK is called Hvepsene (lit. "The Wasps"), and make up the majority of fans of the team, and arrange bus trips for away matches, family days with the team, and the like.

Brønshøj BK has only one known ultra group, Brønshøj Drunken Army, a nominally left-wing and anti-racist firm that supports the team standing up throughout the match with chants, songs and dance.

As of November 2011, Hvepsene and BDA made the largest tifo in the Danish 1st Division that year. [1]
