The City to Sea Bridge is a pedestrian bridge and public artwork located in Wellington City, New Zealand. Opened in 1994, the wedge-shaped bridge crosses arterial road Jervois Quay, connecting the public spaces of Civic Square to the Wellington waterfront precinct at the Lagoon.[1] Around the square are the Michael Fowler Centre, Wellington Town Hall, Wellington City Art Gallery and Wellington Central Library.

Detail of the City to Sea Bridge, showing one of the bridge sides, made from large rough-cut slabs of timber cut away in patterns. A grill-work porthole looks through the side into the high-rise building beyond.
The bridge is adorned with non-traditional wooden sculptures carved by prominent Māori artist Paratene Matchitt, some of which form the sides of the bridge.[1] The bridge has become a tourist attraction in its own right. [2][3]
