Euroleague Basketball S.L.[1][2][3][4] is the private company that runs and operates the top two continental-wide men's professional club basketball competitions in Europe, the first-tier Euroleague, and the second-tier Eurocup. It has been organizing the Euroleague competition since the year 2000, beginning with the Euroleague 2000–01 season.[5] It also oversees the European national basketball league rankings, and the Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament.[6] It is headquartered in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.[7]

Structure

Euroleague Properties S.A. (EP) founded in 2009, based in Luxembourg[8] and is the private individual company that operates the private league system that makes up the Euroleague and the Eurocup. EP controlled by the company known as Euroleague Commercial Assets (ECA)[9] and works in conjunction with ECA. ECA founded in 2006, based in Luxembourg[10] and is composed of the clubs[9] that play in each year's Euroleague and Eurocup competitions.

Euroleague Basketball Company has a 50% share in the Euroleague Commercial Assets (ECA), while the teams also have a 50% share in the ECA. The Euroleague Commercial Assets (ECA), also has an executive voting committee, which includes Euroleague Basketball Company, the clubs from Euroleague and Eurocup Basketball, ULEB, and also the executive boards of some of the national domestic leagues that are ULEB members, and that also have clubs playing in the Euroleague and/or Eurocup.
