Flag for "indigenous peoples" in Guatemala, officially adopted in 2008. It is shown together with the state flag on official occasions. Its proportions are 5:8. The four sectors symbolizing the cardinal points and the elements of nature, each color represents one ethnic group in Guatemala: white for Maya , black for Ladinos, yellow for Garifuna and red for Xinca. The central emblem is the Q'anil, a Mayan script that represents the earth.
