Summary

Steam engine, Providence Mills, Dewsbury. The engine is a tandem compound that was built as a single by Cardwell (the only survivor) and compounded by Woodhouse & Mitchell of Brighouse. It is unusual in that it always appears to have run non-condensing. It was restored by Chris Evans and Paul Akrigg in the 1980s but now runs rarely.
