Google Partners, originally Google AdWords Certification Program or Google AdWords Certification, is a Google AdWords partner certification program, providing AdWords qualifications to individuals and agencies that pass Google's exams. To become AdWords certified, you’ll need to pass the AdWords Fundamentals exam and one of the other Advanced AdWords exams. i.e. Search Advertising, Display Advertising, Video Advertising, Shopping Advertising, Mobile Advertising.
History
It replaced Google Advertising Professionals in April 2010, including changes such as amended criteria for entry and changes to the training structure and exam requirements.[1] The program continues to certify consultants to help the increasing number of new Google AdWords clients with their AdWords campaigns. There is one fundamental exam and five advanced exam in this program. The advanced exams are the Search Advertising, Display Advertising, Video Advertising, Shopping Advertising, Mobile Advertising.
In order to be individually qualified, a person must pass the fundamental exam and one advance exam. The type of advance exam taken will determine the type of AdWords qualification one will receive.[2] To be a Google certified partner, an agency must have at least two AdWords Certified individuals, follow all "Best Practices",and must spend "in at least 60 of the last 90 days", managed a $10,000 spend in the last 90 days, and been active in the last 90 days.[3]
One of the requirements for a Google Partner is that they must continue with their best practices by engaging with ongoing professional development. This means both individuals must sit and pass the two exams every year to keep the partnership.[4]
In 2013, Google AdWords Certification was changed to Google AdWords Partners.[5]
A comprehensive list or database of these partners cannot be found using any modern search engine, what the adwords and partner affiliation programs actually are, despite this article is still rather a mystery as are their tax arrangements and deals with google on an individual basis,
