This article is about list of cities in Andhra Pradesh state of India. The statistical data is based on 2011 Census of India, conducted by The Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, under Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

Cities statistics

As per 2011 Census of India, Towns with population of 1,00,000 and above are called Cities.[1] The state of Andhra Pradesh has a total of 31 cities, including the state capital, Amaravati.[2] These cities include, 14 municipal corporations, 16 municipalities.[3] All the thirteen district headquarters of the state are classified as cities and are having municipal corporation status. Visakhapatnam is the most populous city with a population of 2,110,988 and Chilakaluripet is the least populous with a population of 101,550. Srikakulam is the least populated municipal corporation with a population of 125,939.[3] Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada are the two metropolitan cities in the state.[4] In terms of area, Visakhapatnam is the largest corporation with an area of 681.96 km2 (263.31 sq mi), followed by the state capital, Amaravati. Proddatur is the smallest municipality, with an area of 7.12 km2 (2.75 sq mi). Among the corporations, Eluru is the smallest corporation with an area of 14.55 km2 (5.62 sq mi).[3]
