Saif Ul Haque (Bengali: সাইফুল হক) is a Bangladeshi architect, educator, architectural theorist and activist known for his pivotal role in establishing modern architecture in Bangladesh. His works have been critically acclaimed for sensitive style of architecture respecting local culture and environment.

Career

Saif Ul Haque completed his bachelor of architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and established Diagram Architects in 1984 with two other partners. Later, he started his own architectural firm Saif Ul Haque Sthapati. He was the local consultant of the design team led by architect Moshe Safdie for the Asian University for Women project. Haq is a former visiting faculty of University of Wuhan, China and has been invited as a design critic at numerous universities worldwide including University of Pennsylvania and ETH Zurich.[1]
