"All I Ever Need Is You" is a popular song written by Jimmy Holiday and Eddie Reeves and recorded by Ray Charles for his 1971 album The Volcanic Action of My Soul. The most well-known version of the song is the hit single from Sonny and Cher. It reached number seven on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It is their single of greatest longevity, spending 15 weeks on that chart.
"All I Ever Need Is You" also topped the Easy Listening chart for five weeks late in 1971.[1] It was also a top-ten single in both the United Kingdom and Canada. Worldwide sales of the single totalled 2,250,000 copies.
Two different versions made the country music charts: one by Ray Sanders in 1971 and another by Kenny Rogers and Dottie West in 1979. The latter reached number one on the country charts and #102 on the Billboard Bubbling Under the Hot 100 chart.
