Lua error in Module:Infobox at line 314: malformed pattern (missing ']'). The Barbadian cricket team is the representative first class cricket team of Barbados.

It does not take part in any international competitions (the 1998 Commonwealth Games tournament being an exception), but rather in inter-regional competitions in the Caribbean, such as the West Indies' Professional Cricket League (which includes Regional Four Day Competition and the NAGICO Regional Super50), and the best players may be selected for the West Indies team, which plays international cricket. The team competes in the Professional Cricket League under the franchise name Barbados Pride.[1]

Barbados has traditionally been the strongest four-day team of the Caribbean islands, winning 19 first class titles outright, and one shared – 12 more than any other team. However, their record in one-day cricket is less impressive, with only four official titles plus the 1972–73 Banks Trophy, whose status is uncertain.

Barbados' dominance in first-class cricket since the Shell Shield was instituted in 1965-6 came in two periods – first in the 1970s, winning five Shell Shield titles in succession (including a shared title with Trinidad and Tobago), and from 1994–95 to 2003–04, when they won six titles out of a possible ten. However, they finished last in the 2004-05 Carib Beer Cup.

The most prominent Barbadian cricketers include George Challenor, Joel Garner, Gordon Greenidge, Wes Hall, Desmond Haynes, Conrad Hunte, Malcolm Marshall, Garry Sobers, Clyde Walcott, Everton Weekes and Frank Worrell.
