Biography

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Benjamin Gluck attended California Institute of the Arts, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Film and Animation. While at Calarts, his student film, Man’s Best Friend, a satirical spoof on life and love in the Garden of Eden, garnered awards and accolades in the American and International Film circuit and premiered nationwide on MTV's Cartoon Sushi network show. This film provided him with a full scholarship from Walt Disney Studios.

Gluck then joined Walt Disney Studios where he served for a decade working in the animation story department on the films Dinosaur, Emperor’s New Groove, and Home on the Range. He served as Head of Story on Bambi II which led him to direct his first film for video release, Brother Bear 2.

Gluck then began working on independent animated and international productions. He was the Head of Story on 9, executive produced by Tim Burton. This work led to direct his first feature film, Alpha and Omega, a 3D animated feature film by Lionsgate Films and Crest India. This film has been reported to be their highest-grossing animated film to date and developed some cult status, followed by eight follow-up films. Gluck was personally hired by George Lucas to develop feature film properties and Tyler Perry. Gluck's most recent work was as a storyboard artist on the Salma Hayek produced animated feature film, The Prophet (2014 film).
