Brampton Meadow
From Infogalactic: the planetary knowledge core
Brampton Meadow is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Cambridgeshire, England.[1] The site, adjacent to the A14 northwest of the Brampton Hut roundabout, is rich in native grasses and biodiversity, in part owing to its neutral (non-calcareous) soil. "Unimproved" natural grassland, became a scarce commodity in Britain during the second half of the 20th century, in part owing to pressures of fertilizer-dependent intensive agriculture. A Grassland Inventory of Cambridgeshire (1994) found only 670 hectares (1,700 acres) of dry, unimproved grassland.[2]
