Chakeri/ramadevi is a census town in Kanpur Nagar district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.
Demographics
Chakeri is a large town located in the district of Kanpur Nagar in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. It has a population of about 9868 persons living in around 2441 households as of 2011.[1] As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Chakeri had a population of 8580. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Chakeri has an average literacy rate of 95%, higher than the national average of 70.2%; with male literacy of 97% and female literacy of 93%. 23% of the population is under 6 years of age. In future largest metro station proposed here.
History
Ramadevi/Chakeri is a nearby area to the jajmau (Ruled by king yayati) on the bank of holi river ganga. Founder of this place was Gangadeen Yadav. He built well, temple and rest room for passengers in the memory his mother ramadevi.now it is one of the famous chowk in kanpur/India.

The NHAI proposes to upgrade a road project in Uttar Pradesh. The Authority intends to take up six-laning of the Etawah-Ramadevi chowk (Kanpur) section of NH-2 from Km 323.475 to Km 483.687 under NHDP Phase V. The project is expected to cost Rs 1,698.50 crore. RFQs have been invited from prospective entities, with last date of submission being 10 December 2010.[3]
