The Closter Public Schools are a community public school district that educates students in pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade from Closter in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States.

As of the 2011-12 school year, the district's two schools had an enrollment of 1,110 students and 88.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.61:1.[1]

The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[3]

Students in ninth through twelfth grades attend Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest in Demarest, together with students from Demarest and Haworth.[4] The high school is part of the Northern Valley Regional High School District, which also serves students from Harrington Park, Northvale, Norwood and Old Tappan.[5][6]
