Desouza's School is a private Indian school, located in Sector-2 of Rourkela, Odisha. Established in 1982, the school is affiliated to the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and the Indian School Certificate (ISC).

General information

Nestling in the heart of the Durgapur Hills of the Chota Nagpur Plateau, the school was a private initiative by a couple, academician Anne DeSouza and armyman Captain John A. DeSouza.

Courses offered

The school offers kindergarten, primary, middle and secondary education. With Classes I to XII having science and commerce courses stream at the senior secondary level, the school prepares the students for the ICSE and ISC examinations.

The school has a primary resource room, science laboratories, computer rooms with television, LCD and overhead projector facilities, playgrounds and gardens and a library.

Facilities

The student facilities include:

  • science lab – with the latest scientific appliances in the labs of physics, chemistry and biology

  • audio visual room – for presentation of various subjects using LCD projectors and latest-edition educational CDs and DVDs

Campus

The school is situated on a six-acre campus at the foot of the hills of Sector-2 and is near Indira Gandha Park, Gayatri Temple and Sushilavati Government Women's College.
