Elizabeth Anionwu
Elizabeth Nneka Anionwu CBE FRCN RN, is an Emeritus Professor of Nursing at University of West London.
Before her retirement in August 2007 she was a nurse and Head of the Mary Seacole Centre for Nursing Practice (Faculty of Health and Human Sciences at University of West London) and Honorary Professor of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Nursing.
She is currently Vice-Chairperson of the Mary Seacole Memorial Statue Appeal.[1]
Elizabeth is a Patron of the Sickle Cell Society and the Nigerian Nurses Charitable Association UK, and Vice-President of Unite/Community Practitioners and Health Visitors Association (CPHVA). She is also Honorary Advisor to the Chief Nursing Officer’s Black & Minority Ethnic Advisory Group.
Elizabeth was awarded a CBE in 2001 and in 2004 a Fellowship of the Royal College of Nursing (FRCN). In 2010 she was inducted into the Nursing Times Nursing Hall of Fame for services to the Development of Nurse-led Services.
