Emily Elizabeth Kieliszewski (born July 22, 1992) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Alpena, Michigan, who was crowned Miss Michigan 2015. She competed for the Miss America 2016 title in September 2015.

Pageant career
Vying for Miss Michigan
In April 2009, Kieliszewski was named Miss Sunrise Side 2009.[1][2] She won $2,500 in cash plus a one-year scholarship to Alpena Community College.[1] She competed in the 2010 Miss Michigan pageant with the platform "Influencing Children Toward a Healthy and Productive Life" and a ball acrobatics performance to "Entry of the Gladiators" by Julius Fučík in the talent portion of the competition.[3][4][5] She was not a Top-10 semi-finalist for the state title and earned a $500 non-finalist scholarship award.[6]
Kieliszewski competed in the 2011 Miss Michigan pageant as Miss Tip of the Mitt 2011 with the platform "D.A.R.E. Program" and a musical theater dance to "Mink, Schmink" by Eartha Kitt in the talent portion of the competition.[7][8][9] She was named was second runner-up to winner Elizabeth Wertenberger.[10][11] She competed in the 2012 Miss Michigan pageant as Miss Southwest Michigan 2012 with the platform "The Love of a Family: Adopting America's Children" and an acrobatics performance in the talent portion of the competition.[12][13] She was not a Top-10 semi-finalist for the state title.[14][15]
Kieliszewski competed in the 2013 Miss Michigan pageant as Miss Capital City 2013 with the platform "The Love of a Family: Adopting America's Children" and an acrobatics performance in the talent portion of the competition.[16] She was not a Top-5 finalist for the state title.[17] She competed in the 2014 Miss Michigan pageant as Miss Mid Michigan 2014 with the platform "The Love of a Family: Adopting America's Children" and a dance performance in the talent portion of the competition.[18] She was named the fourth runner-up to winner K. T. Maviglia.[19]
Miss Michigan 2015
On July 12, 2014, Kieliszewski was crowned Miss Stateline 2015 making her eligible for a sixth attempt at the state title.[20][21][22] She entered the Miss Michigan pageant at Muskegon's Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts in June 2015 as one of 34 qualifiers.[22][23] Kieliszewski's competition talent was tap dancing to "U Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer.[20][24] Her platform is "Adopting America's Children", a campaign to raise awareness of children seeking permanent families.[19]
Kieliszewski won the competition on Saturday, June 20, 2015, when she received her crown from outgoing Miss Michigan titleholder K. T. Maviglia.[20][25] She earned more than $12,000 in scholarship money and other prizes from the state pageant.[23][26] As Miss Michigan, her activities include public appearances across the state of Michigan.[5][20]
Vying for Miss America 2016
Kieliszewski was Michigan's representative at the Miss America 2016 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in September 2015.[26][27][28] In the televised finale on September 13, 2015, she placed outside the Top 15 semi-finalists and was eliminated from competition. She was awarded a $3,000 scholarship prize as her state's representative.[29][30]
Early life and education
Kieliszewski is a native of Alpena, Michigan, and a 2009 graduate of Alpena High School.[1][5][21][28] Her father, Steve Kieliszewski, is the sheriff of Alpena County.[11] Her mother, Erin McDonnell Kieliszewski, is a teacher.[24] She has a younger sister and four brothers, three of whom are adopted.[19][31]
Kieliszewski is a May 2013 graduate of Michigan State University where she earned a bachelor's degree in political science.[19][31]
