Eungella Dam is one of Queensland's more established freshwater fisheries. Eungella has made a name for producing extra oversized Sooty grunter and more recently Barramundi.

Eungella Dam was constructed in 1969 to meet the requirements of a thermal power station at Collinsville and the town water requirement of Collinsville and Scottsville. Eungella Dam holds 131 000 ML of water at an average depth of 14.7 m and has a surface area of 890 hectares at full capacity.

SunWater is undertaking a dam spillway capacity upgrade program to ensure the highest level of safety for our dams is maintained. The spillway will be upgraded in the longer term.[2]

Fishing

A Stocked Impoundment Permit is required to fish in the dam.[3]
