Fintan Warfield is an Irish musician, LGBT rights activist and Sinn Féin Senator. He topped the poll on the Cultural and Educational Panel in 2016, and was the first senator in the country deemed elected, announced 25 April 2016.[1] He is a former Mayor of South Dublin and is openly gay.[2] Warfield took 10% from his salary when he was mayor and gave it to a women's refuge, LGBT group BeLonGTo and Citywise (known for providing youths with education-related support in Jobstown).[3]

A former full-time musician, he plays guitar and sings and is a cousin of Derek Warfield (a musician with The Wolfe Tones) and has previously performed with them.[4]
