Fruit beer is a non-specific term used to refer to several types of beer made with fruit. Any form of beer (lager, stout, etc.) may be made using fruit added as an adjunct or flavouring; these may or may not be referred to as fruit beers, or they may be referred to by the base beer.[1] Lambics, beers originating in Belgium, though copied by brewers in other parts of the world, may be fermented with cherries to make kriek,[2] or fermented with raspberries to make framboise.[3] There are lambics and oud bruins which have fruit or fruit syrup added after fermentation as a flavouring; these may be termed fruit lambics or fruit beers.
