Marius George Țucudean (born 30 April 1991 in Arad) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a striker for ASA Târgu Mureș, on loan from English club Charlton Athletic.

Club career

UTA Arad

Țucudean started his career playing for his hometown club UTA Arad.[1] He stayed at UTA for two years before joining Liga I squad Dinamo Bucureşti.[2]

Dinamo

He made his debut at his new team on April 1, 2011 in a game against Universitatea Cluj.[3] Although young, Țucudean made an immediate impact at the Bucharest team by scoring 4 goals from 13 appearances in the second half of the 2010–11 season.[4]

In his first full season for the team, he made 30 appearances allround and scored 4 goals, also making his UEFA Europa League debut.[5]

On 14 July 2012, Țucudean scored two goals in the 2012 Romanian Supercup against CFR Cluj,[6] in a game that Dinamo București won at penalty shoot-out to claim the trophy.[7] He was declared man of the match for his performance.[8] On Dinamo's first home game of the 2012–13 Liga I played against CSMS Iași on the 29th of July, Țucudean had a magistral performance, scoring four goals and offering one assist in just 52 minutes of play.[9][10]

Standard Liège

On 31 January 2013, Țucudean was bought by Standard Liège, where he signed a contract for four and a half years.[11]

Loan back to Dinamo

On 28 August 2013, he was loaned out for 2013–14 Liga I season to Dinamo, the team from he was transferred to Standard Liège.

Charlton Athletic

In July 2014 he signed a three-year deal to play for English side Charlton Athletic.[12] He scored his first goal for the club in a 3–2 win over Derby County on 19 August 2014.[13] He scored his second goal to open up the scoring in a 2–1 win over Bolton Wanderers on 21 October 2014 before assisting Johnnie Jackson to score the second goal.[14]

Loan to Steaua

On 28 January 2015, he was loaned until to the June 30, 2016 to Steaua București from Charlton Athletic with transfer option.[15] In September 2015, Steaua cancelled the loan.

International career

Țucudean is a former Romania U–17 and Romania U–19 international, having played 3 and 5 games respectively.[16] He has scored for Romania U–21 three goals under his belt so far.
