Gonzalo Antonio Fierro Caniullán (born 21 March 1983) is a Chilean footballer who plays for Colo-Colo as right back.

Career
Colo-Colo
Fierro began his career with Chilean giants Colo-Colo, where he received the nickname "El Joven Pistolero" (The Young Gun). In 2005, he scored eleven goals and gave numerous assists while playing with other prominent players such as Humberto Suazo, the world's top international scorer in 2007 and the Mexican League's top scorer in 2008; Matias Fernandez, who preceded Carlos Tevez as the Americas's best player in 2007; and Alexis Sánchez, who went on to play in world-renowned club River Plate and is now at Italy's premier club, Udinese Calcio. However, he still found the back of the net, scoring ten goals in 2008. In his initial years, Fierro scored a dozen goals in the Chilean League as well as two 30 meter rockets in the Copa Sudamericana 2006. He scored three more goals at the Copa Libertadores 2007 and was a regular starter at the Copa Libertadores 2008, where he scored against Unión Atlético Maracaibo, and was a key man in 2–0 win against Boca Juniors, where he took a penalty kick.
Flamengo
On 26 August 2008, Fierro joined Brazilian powerhouse Flamengo.[1] He became the first Chilean player in the club's history.[2] In his debut season he only completed eight league games. On 5 April 2009, Gonzalo played his first match as a starter on the Rio de Janeiro State League 1–1 draw against rivals Fluminense.[3]
In 2009, Fierro had a more active role in the team after being chosen to replace Ibson who left the club on loan.[4] He played 24 games and scored one goal against 2008 Série A defending champions São Paulo at Morumbi Stadium in a 1–1 draw[5] where was assisted by Brazilian national team striker in the age Adriano Leite.[6][7] Noteworthy, he helped the team to won the 2009 Série A title, joining thereby to Nelson Tapia, Elias Figueroa and his teammate Claudio Maldonado as the only Chileans on won a Brazilian league title.
On 15 July 2010, was reported that Fierro joined Boca Juniors in an alleged request of Claudio Borghi to La Boca–based club board.[8] However a serious injury stopped his incorporation and on 17 August was confirmed he left the club for return to Rio de Janeiro with Flamengo for start his recuperation.[9]
International career
Fierro played for the Chilean National Team at the Copa América 2007 against Ecuador, Brazil and Mexico. He also played for the National Team in a tour of Europe with world-renowkn coach, Marcelo Bielsa, who won the gold medal at Athens 2004, won the most points for Argentina in any qualification process for 2002 and additionally brought his experience of managing champion teams in Mexico and his homeland of Argentina. Bielsa had so much faith in Fierro's abilities that he immediately took him into his new process, nominated him to play the two hosts of Euro 2008, Austria and Switzerland, where Chile won 2–0 and lost 2–1 in a game where Chile was inexplicably denied a legitimate goal. In a tour of Asia in 2007 where Chile played the two hosts of the 2002 World Cup, Fierro played and scored against South Korea in a 1–0 win and played the 90 minutes in the tie against Japan 0–0. In the 2010 World Cup Qualifiers, Fierro started in the 0–2 loss to Argentina, the 2–0 win against Peru, the historical 2–2 tie against Uruguay in Montevideo, and the 0–3 loss against Paraguay. Due to his demanding season he stayed out in the 2–0 win against Bolivia in La Paz, and the 3–2 win against Venezuela in Caracas. Fierro then played against Euro 2008's most entertaining squad, Turkey, in a tight 1–0 loss in Istanbul and has been nominated to play Brazil as well as Colombia on 7 and 10 September of this year.
