The Gyeonggang Line (경강선, 성남-여주선) of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway system is a major commuter rail line under construction in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It runs from the city of Seongnam to Yeoju City, partially coinciding with the route of the former narrow-gauge Suryeo Line. It is planned to open in July 2, 2016.

In addition to the Yeoju Line, a railway line from Bubal to Mungyeong, called the Central Inland Line (중부내륙선), is being constructed. Construction started in November 2015. The line is expected to open in 2019 to Chungju, and then in 2021 to Mungyeong.

History

July 2, 2016: The line is planned to be opened from Pangyo to Yeoju.

Future

The Yeoju Line is one section of a railway line that is planned to run all the way from Incheon to Wonju. The line is planned to be extended west of Pangyo on the Wolgot-Pangyo Line and the existing Suin Line, and east of Yeoju on the Yeoju-Wonju Line. The Yeoju Line is expected to be connected to these lines to provide through service when they open.
