The women's artistic individual all-around competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London was held at the North Greenwich Arena on 2 August.[1]

Format competition

The top 24 qualifiers in the qualification phase (limit two per NOC), based on combined score of each apparatus, advanced to the individual all-around final. The finalists performed on each apparatus again. Qualification scores were then ignored, with only final round scores counting.[2]

Therefore, in some cases, a third gymnast placed high enough to qualify, but did not advance to the final because of the quota. *Aliya Mustafina and Aly Raisman finished with the same total score of 59.566. In the case of a tie, the sum of the three highest apparatus scores is used. These sums were 45.933 for Mustafina and 45.366 for Raisman (both dropping their Beam score), earning Mustafina the bronze medal.[3]
