HMS Industrial Networks is an international company within industrial communications headquartered in Halmstad, Sweden. HMS is listed on the OMX-Nordic Stock Exchange, employs over 450 people in ten countries and reported sales of 57 million EUR 2013.[1]

Products

HMS manufactures and markets industrial communication products which connect industrial devices to different industrial networks. HMS products act as translators between robots, control systems, motors, sensors, etc. and the different industrial networks that exist on the market (fieldbuses and Industrial Ethernet). HMS also offers products for Remote Management - web-based control of field equipment such as Power Generators, Tanks, Telecom Base Stations, Buildings etc.

HMS markets products under the following brands:

  • Anybus solutions. Multi-network connectivity within fieldbus and industrial Ethernet. With Anybus, you can connect any industrial device to any industrial network. Wired or wirelessly..[2]
  • IXXAT solutions. Communication solutions for machines, safety and automotive. IXXAT products enable communication inside machines and between components..[3]
  • Netbiter solutions. Remote Management of industrial equipment. With Netbiter, you can monitor and control field equipment and machinery online.[4]

Organization and history

HMS has operations in 11 countries: (Sweden (Halmstad - HQ), Germany (Karlsruhe, Ravensburg), USA (Chicago, Boston, Pittsburgh), Japan (Shin-Yokohama), China (Beijing), Italy (Milano), France (Mulhouse), UK (Coventry),[5] India (Pune), Switzerland (Basel), and Belgium (Nivelles). In addition, distributors in 50 countries resell the HMS products on local markets.

HMS was founded in 1988 by Nicolas Hassbjer (hence HMS = Hassbjer MicroSystems) and has been deemed "Export Company of the Year" by the Swedish Trade Council.[6]

  • Product development of eWON products handled in Nivelles, Belgium.
  • Solution centers in Sweden, Germany and the U.S. develop customer-specific solutions.
  • Manufacturing takes place in Sweden, Latvia and China.
  • Subsidiary offices sell and market the HMS solutions on their respective markets: Sweden, Germany, France, USA, Italy, UK, China, Japan, Switzerland, and India.
