Hallidie Plaza

Hallidie Plaza is located at the entrance to the BART Powell Street Station on Market Street in the Union Square area of downtown San Francisco, California. The plaza also contains a Visitor Information Center, where the staff can provide information in 14 languages.

The Plaza was named after Andrew Smith Hallidie, who developed the world's first cable car system in 1873.

Hallidie Plaza opened in 1973.[1]
