Heinrich Kretschmayr (1870–1939) was Austrian archivist and historian[1] who specialized in the history of Venice.[2]

The first volume of Kretschmayr's work Geschichte von Venedig was published in 1905 and second in 1920. His work outgrew the 19th century tradition in historiography.[3]
