Hyannis is a train station along the Cape Cod Central Railroad's dinner and excursion train service. It is located on 252 Main Street in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
The Hyannis Transportation Center shares the same track, and is used by CCRTA buses and the CapeFLYER seasonal rail service between Boston and Cape Cod. The area also includes two low-level platforms, an overhead canopy on one of the platforms, and a high platform for wheelchair access. The station platform on the east side of the mainline is approximately 645 feet long, which accommodates a seven car train.[1]

History
The station was constructed in the early 1850s by the Cape Cod Railroad Company in time for the arrival of the first train from Boston on July 8, 1854. It is said that the train was met by a crowd estimated at 3,000. Immediately the line started running three trains a day to and from Boston.[2]
The station remained in active service until 1953 when the New Haven Railroad moved its Hyannis passenger station to a location about a mile north.[3]
From 1984 until 1988 the station was used by the Cape Cod & Hyannis Railroad. The station was also the terminus for Amtrak's Cape Codder, which ran from 1986 to 1996.
