Info Edge (India) Ltd. is an Indian e-commerce/on-line classifieds company founded in 1995 by Sanjeev Bikhchandani and headquartered in Noida, India. It owns internet properties Naukri.com, Shiksha.com, Jeevansathi.com, Naukrigulf.com and 99acres.com and stakes in many other internet businesses. Info Edge (India) is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange of India[2][3]

History

Info Edge was founded by Sanjeev Bikhchandani in 1995 with a partner. Sanjeev was working with HMM (now GlaxoSmithKline) before he quit to start his own company. Info Edge is one of the earliest Internet companies in India and its online recruitment brand Naukri.com became the leading job portal.[4] It also diversified into Online Matrimony Jeevansathi and Online Real Estate 99acres.com. It was converted into a Public Limited on 27 April 2006.[5] It was the first Indian dotcom to IPO on an Indian stock exchange.
