Kim Eana (Korean: 김이나) (also spelled Kim Yi-na and Kim Ina) is a South Korean lyricist famous for her work on Korean pop music in the early twenty-first century. She is primarily known for the songs "Abracadabra" performed by Brown Eyed Girls, and "Good Day" performed by IU, with the latter holding the #1 spot on the Gaon Singles Chart for five weeks. In total, 11 songs penned by her have reached #1 on South Korea's music charts.

Life & Career

Kim Eana was born on April 27, 1979. Kim is a songwriter who has written numerous #1 songs on the Korean pop music charts. She has collaborated with Lee Min-soo and has written lyrics for Son Dam-bi, SHINee, Brown Eyed Girls, IU, VIXX, Younha and Sunny Hill. Kim is a lyricist, and has also participated in the promotional and music video aspects of the careers of the artists she has worked with.[2]

On Twitter, she uses the user name "bongsamee", referring to her pet cat.[3][4]

Style

Kim's works often straddles the line between typical love songs found in popular music and broader tones of social critique or commentary on the entertainment industry.[5] There have been instances when she has offered possible interpretations to her works through social media websites.[6]
