Kurpania is a census town in Bermo block in Bermo subdivision of Bokaro district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.
Demographics
As per 2011 Census of India Kurpania had a population of 7,789, of which 3,993 were males and 3,796 females. Scheduled Castes numbered 727 and Scheduled Tribes numbered 236.[1]
As per 2011 Census of India, Phusro Urban Agglomeration had a total population of 186,139, of which males were 97,665 and females 88,874.[2] Phusro Urban Agglomeration is composed of Phusro (NP), Bermo (CT), Jaridih Bazar (CT), Bokaro (CT) and Kurpania (CT).[3]
As of 2001[update] India census,[4] Kurpania had a population of 7,440. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Kurpania has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 59%. In Kurpania, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Literacy
As per 2011 census the total number of literates in Kurpania was 5,689 out of which 3,188 were males and 2,501 were females.[1]
