The cultural language of Burundi is Kirundi. The official languages of Burundi are English, French and Kirundi, all with the same weight.[1]
Swahili is also spoken. Education for deaf individuals uses American Sign Language, introduced by the deaf American missionary Andrew Foster. No other languages are spoken natively in any significant numbers.
