Larry Merlo
Larry Merlo is the President and CEO of CVS Health.[1]

Background
Merlo is a trained pharmacist and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.[2][3] He joined CVS in 1990.
Career
Merlo has worked for CVS for more than 30 years. He became the chief executive of their company in 2011.[4] In 2014, Merlo announced that CVS would be the first major retail pharmacy to eliminate tobacco sales in all of its stores.[5] He also announced that CVS would expand its line of “Minute Clinics,” which are walk-in health clinics, from 800 locations to 1,500 by 2017.[6]
Honors and board memberships
Merlo joined First Lady Michelle Obama at the 2015 State of the Union address on January 20.[5] In 2014, he was named number 31 by Fortune Magazine as the Biz Person of the Year.[6] He serves on the Executive Committee for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS). In addition, Merlo serves on the University of Pittsburgh’s Board of Trustees and is a member of the Business Roundtable.
Family life
Merlo lives in East Greenwich, Rhode Island with his wife of 36 years, Lee Ann.[5]
