Mélissa Thomas is an Australian actress. She is the daughter of the famous musician and Record Producer G. Wayne Thomas,(Morning of the Earth) and co-starred with Heath Ledger in the television series Sweat (1996) and has most recently been seen in the Heath Ledger episode of E! True Hollywood Story as herself, speaking frankly about life as his friend and co-star. She has featured in a number of films and television series / mini-series over the years.

Performance career

Thomas is a fully trained professional Ballerina she has traveled the world and danced for various Ballet companies including "The Australian" and "The Royal" Her film work to date includes: Ghost Town (2000) playing a patient, alongside Ricky Gervais, Swimming Upstream (2003) playing Dawn Fraser, alongside Geoffrey Rush and Jesse Spencer, Thank God He Met Lizzie (1997) playing a bridesmaid, alongside Cate Blanchett (known as The Wedding Party in the USA), and Dallas Doll (1993) playing Margaret, alongside Sandra Bernhard and Rose Byrne.

Her television work includes roles in: All Saints (2003) playing Linda Thompson, "Sweat" (1996) playing Sandy Fricker alongside Heath Ledger, Late for School (1992) playing Lily Price, Brides of Christ (1990) playing Brigid Maloney, alongside Naomi Watts and Russell Crowe, A Country Practice (1990) playing Peta Thornton, Family and Friends (1990), E Street (1989) and G.P. (1989).

Thomas has also worked on Holy Cross (2003). Footballers' Wives (2002), and GMT: Greenwich Mean Time, as well as presenting on Level 23 (1994), on The Defenders: Choice of Evil.

Her theatre experience includes: Annie (Stage) Role of Annie (1986),"The Sound of Music" (Stage) Role; {Liesel von Trapp} (1989),","Les Miserables" {Young Cosette} (1987), "Fiddler on The Roof" {Abigale} (1996), "Snow White & Seven Dwarfs" {Snow White} London (1996).

Executive career

Thomas moved to Los Angeles in 1999 worked executive producer for NBC and then on to CBS, wrote two television series for the major US networks, sold rights for undisclosed amount, both TV series currently air on US and worldwide Television Networks. She returned to Australia in late 2003. Settled into family life and lives in Sydney with her four children.
