Minnith is an unincorporated community located in the southern part of Beauvais Township in Sainte Genevieve County, Missouri. The town lies 12 miles to the south of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.[1]

Name

Minnith was named by Miles A. Gilbert of St. Marys, a local judge, because of the abundance of wheat growing in the fields. The name minnith was referenced to an Ammonite town mentioned in the Old Testament Book of Ezekiel in the Bible from where wheat was exported to Tyre, Lebanon. Ezekiel 27:17: Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants, they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.”[2][3]
