History

The Miss Malta contest was established in 1963 by the late George & Deggie Gatt Mangion as GM Productions. Over the years, the contest gave an opportunity to some 980 participants to show off their inner and outer beauty locally and abroad through representing Malta at International Beauty Contests around the World. In 2014 Edition is under the management of Glow Promotions, directed by Alan J. Darmanin & Jeff Francalanza who took over the complete organization of the event with the aim to re-brand it and give it a new and complete makeover. Glow Promotions has been in the modelling industry for the past ten years, organizing various beauty pageants and events.

In 2016, Alan J. Darmanin & Jeff Francalanza left Miss Malta Organization and took over Miss Universe franchise holder and held Miss Universe Malta pageant to make Malta return in that pageant.
