James "Jimmy" McCall (born June 3, 1983), better known by his stage name Nocando, is a rapper from Los Angeles, California.[2] He is the 2007 Scribble Jam champion,[3] host of Low End Theory,[4] and founder of Hellfyre Club.[5] He has also been a member of Customer Service,[6] Bomb Zombies,[7] and Flash Bang Grenada.[8]
Career
Nocando began gaining notoriety especially within the battle circuit with wins over what is believed to be hundreds of emcees.[9] Nocando has since focused on making and releasing music, only taking time out occasionally to battle.[10]
Nocando released the official debut album, Jimmy the Lock, on Alpha Pup Records in January 2010.[11] The album is produced by Thavius Beck, Nosaj Thing, Free the Robots, Daedelus, and Nicholas Thorburn, among others.[12] He released Sincerely Yours, a collaborative EP with Nobody as Bomb Zombies, on Hellfyre Club later that year.[13] In 2011, he released 10 Haters, a collaborative album with Busdriver as Flash Bang Grenada,[14] which was listed by the Alarm magazine as one of "50 Unheralded Albums from 2011".[15]
Nocando released the free EP, Zero Hour, in January 2012.[16] He released "Where's the Money?" in September 2012,[17] and "Up in the Air" in December 2012.[18] He released the single, "Little Green Monsters", in December 2013.[19] His second solo album, Jimmy the Burnout, was released on Hellfyre Club in March 2014.[20]
