On 8 December 1972, Pakistan International Airlines Flight 631 crashed during rainy conditions while en route from Gilgit Airport to Rawalpindi International Airport in Pakistan. The Fokker F-27, registration AP-AUS, had 22 passengers and four crew on board. The aircraft struck a hill near the town of Maidan, Pakistan. The aircraft broke into three parts and the wings and engine caught fire. All 26 people on board were killed.[1]
