Portland Parks & Recreation
From Infogalactic: the planetary knowledge core
Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) is the bureau that manages the city parks, natural areas, recreational facilities, gardens, and trails of the City of Portland, Oregon, in the United States. The properties, which occupy a total of more than 10,000 acres (4,000 ha), are staffed and maintained by about 400 permanent employees, 1,000 part-time employees, and more than 6,000 volunteers.[1]
The development of Portland's park system was largely guided by the 1903 Olmsted Portland park plan.
