Rinaldo played for Brasil around 1964-1967 with 12 matches and scored 5 goals. He missed a penalty kick in the friendly match between Brazil-Germany in 1965 that Brasil won by 2-0.[1] As part of Brazilian national team, Rinaldo made his debut on May 30, 1964 at Nations Cup in the match against England. In this match, he scored two goals, and his team won 5:1. At the same tournament, the midfielder spent all three games, and his team took second place. After that, Rinaldo did not play for the national team for another year. Only on June 2, 1965 did he play his fourth match for the national team, in which he hit the gate Belgian national team. On September 7 of the same year, the midfielder was part of the national team, which, as part of the grand opening of the stadium Mineira, played with Uruguay.
