Scott Gerow is an American musician, independent record producer and composer. He specializes in record and music production including; arranging, tracking, programming/sequencing, and mixing, as well as music for Film and TV.

Early life, education

Scott began his music career in Miami, Florida where he attended the New World School of the Arts conservatory for four years, studying classical/jazz performance and theory while performing with the Miami Choir, the Greater Miami Opera, and the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra. He then attended the University of Miami where he studied Music Engineering and Computer Science.

Graduating with a bachelor’s degree, Gerow began a recording career on Miami Beach’s famed Lincoln Road where he had the opportunity to work on projects for artists such as, Christina Aguilera, Rudy Perez/Bull’s Eye Productions, Amir, Oscar de la Hoya and Michael Sterling.

He then began master’s studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna where he studied contemporary composition and arranging.

After returning to the US, Scott continued his recording career and compositional training, finishing his Master’s Degree in Composition at Middle Tennessee State University under the instruction of BMI Award winning composer David McKay and Take 6 vocalist/arranger Cedric Dent.

Career

Currently, Scott spends his time writing, recording, and producing music. He has worked on several award winning records including a number of Gold records and with many artists such as Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Mo, Cedric Dent (of Take 6) and Crystal Gayle. Scott has produced and published many of his artists for feature films, television, advertising and radio airplay. He has also produced music for numerous TV series including NCIS LA, Homeland, How I Met Your Mother, Prison Break, Sons of Anarchy, The Glades, Burn Notice, Saving Grace, Ugly Betty, Drop Dead Diva, Access Hollywood and other FOX, Turner, Sony, and CNN media as well as feature films such as People Like Us, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, And So it Goes, The Slammin’ Salmon, and Crazy, Stupid Love.

To date, Scott owns and manages Battery Lane Music; a production company that specializes in artist production and publishing, studio recording, mixing, as well as music for film and television.
