Tasmin Lucia-Khan (born 18 July 1980) is an English television presenter, news anchor and entrepreneur.[2] She is most known for being the face of BBC Three News,[3][4] hosting E24 on BBC News,[5] and being the morning news presenter for ITV News's Daybreak.[6][7]

Early life
Born Farhana Tasmin Lucia-Khan in London, she is of Bangladeshi descent.[8] Khan graduated from the University of Oxford with an Honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.[9]
Career
In 1999, Khan started her career at Zee TV Network, as an entertainment presenter and news reporter. She then hosted her own talk show interviewing celebrities from music and film, sports and politics.[10] In 2001, she interviewed Bill Clinton, a few months after he completed his second term as US President.[11]
She worked for a short period as a radio presenter for the BBC Asian Network, covering programmes like the Breakfast Show, Drive Time and The Album Chart. She was on air when news of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami broke on Boxing Day in December 2004.
She then worked for the Asian channel, PTV Prime, as the London correspondent, where she reported the UK's big news stories to a worldwide audience including the 7 July 2005 London bombings and the Ipswich serial murders in 2006.[3]
She presented and produced her own sports show on Channel 5 for three years, until she landed the opportunity to present on BBC News and BBC Three.[3][4][5][12] One of her mentors is Kevin Bakhurst, who was the Editor of the Ten O’Clock News on BBC, and is now the Controller of BBC News.[13] Bakhurst and Danny Cohen, controller of BBC Three, offered Khan the job to present the news bulletins on 60 Seconds on BBC Three, and front E24 on BBC News.
She has covered some of the biggest showbiz news stories for the BBC, including the deaths of Michael Jackson, US actor Heath Ledger, and British fashion designer Alexander McQueen.[14] She also covered the McCartney/Mills divorce and the Oscars three years in a row.[15]
On 6 September 2010, she joined the ITV Breakfast programmes Daybreak and Lorraine as the news presenter.[6][9]
Other activities
Khan hosted the 2010 Commonwealth Games 'Queens Baton Relay' at Buckingham Palace, where she asked Queen Elizabeth II and the President of India, to launch the baton on its journey to Delhi for the 2010 Games.[16]
She has hosted the annual BCA Awards ceremony every year, for the past 8 years.[17] the Scottish Asian Business Awards in Glasgow in 2008 and 2009;[18] and presented the Basis Soft Expo 2009 and an HIV/AIDS Conference in 2009, both in Dhaka.
In 2010 and 2011, she hosted the Spice Times Restaurant Awards.[19]
In May and June 2009, She was part of a delegation to Bangladesh, organised by the British Government's Foreign Office as part of their Counter Terrorism strategy.[20][21]
Khan appeared as a keynote speaker at the inaugural Periscope Summit in New York [22] on the 23rd September 2015 speaking on issues ranging from the impact of Periscope [23] on both news organisations and also user communities. Also highlighting the many positive uses of Periscope for charities.
Awards, nominations and honours
Khan was nominated for the Young Achiever of the Year honour at the Asian Woman Awards for Excellence in 2008.[8]
In 2010, Khan was named as the 27th Sexiest Asian Woman in the world by Eastern Eye,[24][citation needed] moving up one spot from 28th place in 2009.[25][26]
Khan is an ambassador for the Prince of Wales' charity, the British Asian Trust.[27]
Khan was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Lloyds Banking Group in 2014 [28]
Personal life
Khan now lives in the United States.[29][30]
