Udita Goswami (born 9 February 1984)[1] is an Indian Gorkha actress who works in Hindi cinema.

Early life

Goswami was born in Guwahati, Assam [2] to a Assamese father from Assam and a mother from Guwahati, Assam who has Nepali origins. Goswami's grandmother is a Nepalese national[3] who is a sister of former Nepalese Prime Minister Tulsi Giri. She spent most of childhood in Kathmandu, Nepal later she moved and she completed her education in Dehradun where she studied at Cambrian Hall and D.A.V. Public schools until class 8.[4][5]

Career

Goswami began her career as a model working for brands such as Pepsi, Titan Watches and Aksar opposite Dino Morea. She also appeared with Upen Patel in Ahmed Khan's music video for the remix of Kya Khoob Lagti Ho.[6]

In 2012, she played the lead role in Diary of a Butterfly. One reviewer wrote that the film "seems to be based on 2 things: 1. Udita Goswami, 2. Udita Goswami’s body."[7]

Personal life

Goswami was in a relationship with Mohit Suri for 9 years before marrying him in 2013.[8]
