Urtica dioica subsp. gracilis, the California nettle[2] or American stinging nettle,[3] is a herbaceous perennial plant native to most of the United States and Canada.[2] It is either considered to be a subspecies of stinging nettle (Urtica dioica), or a species in its own right: Urtica gracilis.
