History
The station went on the air as WAXL on 1981-08-17. On 1990-09-01, the station changed its call sign to the current WGLR-FM.[3] WGLR's music director, Ryan McCall was named "2015 Reporter of the Year" by Music Row magazine during their "Country Breakout Awards" in Nashville, TN on 2015-02-25. [4]
