Ward Thomas is a British country music band, formed of twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas from Hampshire.[1] In 2014, the band's debut album From Where We Stand reached number 1 on the iTunes Country Chart; it also won UK Album Of The Year at the British Country Music Awards.[1] The band has been called "Britain’s first country stars".[2] Fellow country singer, Crissie Rhodes of The Shires, describes their music as written "from a British perspective. While people have been able to appreciate the American sound, they can connect with the themes of British lyrics."[3]

Catherine and Lizzy grew up on a farm in rural Hampshire and started coining songs together when they reached sixth form school and were introduced to Matt Greaves with whom they wrote all of the songs on their most current album alongside a session singer and fellow teacher at the school Ann Bailey. Their album has sold almost 20,000 copies and they have toured the UK multiple times with their largest headline show being at the Islington Assembly Hall. In February 2015, they also performed at The New Adelphi Club in Hull, East Yorkshire.[4]
