Women's suffrage in Kuwait
From Infogalactic: the planetary knowledge core
When voting was first introduced in Kuwait in 1985, Kuwaiti women had the right to vote.[1] The right was later removed. In May 2005, the Kuwaiti parliament re-granted female suffrage. The bill, which passed with 40 votes for and 10 against, allowed women to vote and run in parliamentary and local elections.[2]
Four years later, in May 2009, four female candidates won parliamentary seats in a general election.[3]
