George Albert Holmes was an English professional football outside left who played in the Southern League for Coventry City.[1][2][3] He was a member of the Nottingham Forest squad which toured Argentina and Uruguay in 1905.[4]

Personal life

Holmes served as a private with the 17th (Service) Battalion of the Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment) during the First World War.[5]
