Alfred Douglas was an English football winger who played in the Football League for Brentford, making over 100 appearances for the club.

Career

Douglas began his career with Northern League side Crook Town.[2] Following abortive spells at Football League sides Newcastle United and Crystal Palace, he resumed his career with stints at North Eastern League sides West Stanley and Washington Colliery.[2] Douglas was handed another chance at league football with Division Three South side Brentford in 1925 and went on to become a regular pick on the wing, making 109 appearances and scoring 21 goals in a four-season spell.[3] Douglas' performances won him the attention of Division Two side Reading and he moved to Elm Park in an exchange deal for Bill Lane in 1929.[2] He made only a handful of appearances for the Royals and saw his career out with spells at Bristol Rovers and Guildford City.[2]
