Ali Abbas Zafar is an Indian film director, screenwriter, actor, art director, He is well known for directing Mere Brother Ki Dulhan[1]

Early life and education

Zafar grew up in Dehradun, He has completed his schooling from Marshall school Dehradun. Later he joined Kirori Mal college for further studies and while studying in Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, he worked part-time in film Amu (2005).

Career

Thereafter he shifted to Mumbai and started working with Yash Raj Films, where he worked as an assistant director under directors like Sanjay Gadhvi and Vijay Krishna Acharya.

Zafar made his debut as a director with the YRF hit Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011) which starred Imran Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Ali Zafar in the lead roles.[2]

His next directorial venture was with Gunday, which released on 14 February 2014. The film starred Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor in the lead roles, with Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan in the supporting roles.[3][4] He is currently filming the Salman Khan starrer Sultan.
